Lahore: Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore organized a Protest demonstration on Bedian Road near the main gate of Askari in response to the alarming increase in stray dog attacks and growing sense of insecurity among citizens. The protest was led by Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore, Zia-ud-Din Ansari Advocate. A large number of party workers, local community members, and residents participated in the demonstration. The participants raised strong slogans and criticized the government’s alleged negligence and ineffective policies.

Addressing the gathering, Zia-ud-Din Ansari Advocate stated that incidents of stray dog attacks have increased to dangerous levels, putting citizens-especially children-at serious risk. Referring to recent tragic incidents, he highlighted that a young girl lost her life while several other children were injured, creating an atmosphere of fear across the city.

He further stated that the severe shortage of rabies vaccines and immunoglobulin in public hospitals reflects the government’s failure, and the unavailability of vaccines has become a life-threatening issue for citizens.

The protest was also attended by President Public Aid Committee Qaiser Sharif, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami District East Mian Khubaib Nazir, and Ameer Zone 158 Muhammad Ijaz, who also demanded immediate government action in their addresses.

Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore urged the government and relevant authorities to launch an emergency and effective operation against stray dogs across the city, ensure implementation of the Animal Birth Control policy, guarantee the availability of rabies vaccines and essential medicines in public hospitals, and formulate a comprehensive and sustainable strategy for public safety. He warned that if immediate steps are not taken by the Punjab government, the scope of protests will be expanded throughout the city.
