KARACHI:Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Ameer Monem Zafar Khan along with District East Chief Naeem Akhtar and Town Chairman Dr. Fawad Ahmed inaugurated 25 newly constructed streets and a model neighbourhood, including three main roads in National Cement Society, UC-7 of Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, he said that due to incompetence and mismanagement of Sindh government and the occupying mayor, in the present dilapidated situation of the city, the 9 towns of Jamaat-e-Islami have become islands of construction and development, as compared to the performance of our nine towns, the remaining towns went off the radar.

"Gulshan Town has gifted 25 roads and a model neighbourhood to Cement Society, these roads and streets are part of Gulshan Town's project to construct 1,005 roads and streets covering 10 million square feet, which is continuing on fast track, while the town has restored all its parks and upgraded schools, due to which admissions have increased by 100 per cent, service, honesty and public service is the identity of Jamaat-e-Islami," he said.

The JI leader said that the University Road in shape of BRT Red Line has become agony for people and none of their projects seem to be completed on time.

Naeem Akhtar said these streets and roads have been built in Cement Society after 22 years. "In the past during Niamatullah Khan's tenure when Abdul Wahab was Town Nazim, water issue was resolved here, today process of construction of roads and streets is continuing rapidly, new streetlights are being installed and people of Gulshan Town are clearly feeling the change."

Dr Fawad Ahmed addressing the ceremony said in short period of only 11 days construction of 3 big and main and 25 small streets has been completed, our slogan is "Come, let's make Gulshan a Gulshan together" and with same resolve we are busy day and night in public service, we also request area residents to come forward and also protect other construction and development works so that our families can benefit from them.

Vice Town Chairman Ibrahim Siddiqui, Information Secretary Zahid Askari, Nazim area Muhammad Shahid, Chairman UC-8 Khizr Baqi, GNR Department's Rashid Fayyaz, Engineer Muzaffar, Ward Councillor Talha Jadoon, Asif Abdul Karim and large number of area residents participated in ceremony.
