JI holds historic Gaza March in Karachi, dedicates Oct 1st week to Palestine cause

Karachi: Thousands of Karachiites, including women and children, marched on Shahrah-e-Quaideen to express solidarity with Palestinians as Jamaat-e-islami (JI) announced to dedicate the first week of October to express solidarity with Gaza.A large number of Karachiites, carrying placards and banners, chanted slogans against Israel and it's supporters. People from all walks of life, without any discrimination of cast, creed and colour, participated in the march as one track of Sharah e Quaideen was dedicated for women and children. In his presidential address, JI Pakistan Emir Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that Oct 7 was the day Hamas shattered Israel's power, arrogance and pride. He paid tribute to the people of Karachi for turning out in large numbers despite multiple civic problems, proving their hearts beat with the people of Gaza."The people of freedom can defeat the biggest technology on the basis of faith, passion and commitment," he said. "After being defeated on the technological front, Israe l has been attacking defenceless Palestinians."Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said it was the responsibility of Muslim rulers, their armies and those who claim to be champions of humanity to rein in Israel, but due to apathy of Muslim countries, full support had been extended to Israel. "For the last three years Israel has been carrying out genocide of Palestinians," he said. "Genocide is being carried out not only in Gaza but also in the West Bank. Children are being targeted and killed with sniper guns."He said Israel enjoyed full support of the United States, and silence of Muslim countries was also providing support to Israel. "After Tufan al-Aqsa, Israel has no standing left. Israel thought the whole world would stand against Muslims, but Muslims of the Muslim world stand with Gaza. Even the people of America themselves are against their own president. Due to the resistance of Hamas and the people of Gaza, 81 per cent of youth in America are against Netanyahu," he said.Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said his party had welcomed the defence pact and demanded Iran and Qatar also be included in it. He said that despite a ceasefire, Israeli forces were bombing 70pc of Gaza's area. "This is the time to unite the entire Ummah and include all countries of the region in the pact. Israel is not even the name of a state. It started in the name of Zionist movement. "The founder of Pakistan said from day one that we cannot recognise Israel under any circumstances," he said, adding, "25 crore people of Pakistan do not believe in two states, they believe in only one state and that is the state of Palestine. Rulers should speak on the basis of the policy of the founder of Pakistan. Tell us where is the Peace Board?" he asked. He said Israel had not implemented what was agreed in the ceasefire and America was backing it. US President Donald Trump had signed an agreement to provide $2.8 million worth of arms to Israel. "Israel is being humiliated in the United Nations." "It is the duty of the entire Muslim Ummah to further intensify the st ruggle for liberation of Masjid al-Aqsa and for the destruction of Israel. Remove from your heads those who work at the behest of America," he said.He said the Taghut was right in front and sectarian Shia-Sunni and geographical divisions must end. Bangladesh, Qatar and other Muslim countries should also be included in the defence pact. "We will continue struggle in local conditions and will not forget our vision."On the occasion, he highlighted that the JI, in collaboration with Alkhidmat, had sent more than Rs10 billion in aid, provided hospital facilities, started scholarships for Palestinian students, and that its Bano Qabil programme was also for Palestinian Muslims. "Very soon we are going to extend Bano Qabil programme to Palestine," he said.Talking about the local issues, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that the campaign against petroleum levy extortion and inflation was continuing. "We will observe the week till Oct 7 as solidarity with Gaza and Hamas, and after Oct 7 we will announce our future line of action against petroleum levy extortion tax and inflation," he announced.JI Karachi Ameer Monem Zafar Khan in his address said that Gaza was destroyed because of the spineless leadership in 57 Islamic countries.Dr. Mehmood Yousuf Al Shobki, the grand mufti of Gaza, in his address to the march thanked Karachiites and the JI for their support.Earlier minority leader Younous Sohan Advocate and others also addressed the event.
