Lahore: Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said Jamaat-e-Islami is ready to play a role in initiating dialogue between the governments of Pakistan and Afghanistan. He underlined the need for negotiations between Islamabad and Kabul for regional peace. He said UK's recognition of Palestine is a welcome step while ceasefire in Gaza holds fundamental importance.Addressing a press conference at Mansoorah, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that while the United States has been backing Zionist atrocities in Palestine for the past two years, it has also fully supported the recent Israeli attack on Qatar and earlier aggression against Iran. In the context of the Middle East and South Asia, the defense pact between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia carries special importance, and Jamaat-e-Islami welcomes it.However, he maintained that Iran and other Islamic countries should also be included in this agreement. If that happens, no one will dare challenge the Muslim world. Jamaat-e-Islami's Naib Emir Lia qat Baloch, Punjab Central Emir Javed Kasuri, and JI Central Information Secretary Shakil Ahmad Turabi were also present on the occasion.The Jamaat chief made it clear that alongside Western recognition of Palestine, any conspiracy to separate Hamas from Palestine will not be accepted. He emphasized that the resistance movement Hamas is the legitimate democratic representative of the Palestinians. He further stressed that Pakistan should also refrain from promoting the so-called 'two-state solution' narrative. Under no circumstances should Israel be recognized, as this is the clear national policy laid down by the founder of Pakistan.Hafiz Naeemur Rehman underlined the need for negotiations between Islamabad and Kabul for regional peace. The repatriation of Afghan refugees should take place in a dignified manner, and Afghan soil must not be used for terrorism in Pakistan under any ci rcumstances. He also welcomed the Taliban government's categorical rejection of the U.S. demand to hand over Bagram Air Base.While discussing the flood situation in the country, he demanded that the flood-affected areas be declared disaster-hit, that a transparent system be established for the relief of victims, and that subsidies be provided for agriculture. He announced that 'Palestine Solidarity Week' would be observed from October 1 to 7, and that a 'Farmers' Caravan' would be launched for farmers' rights.While talking about the flood situation in the country, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman demanded declaring flood affected areas as calamity hit areas, formulating transparent system for the help of the flood affectees and subsidies on agriculture. He also announced to observe Palestine solidarity week from 1st to 7th October and carryout kissan carwan for the rights of the farmers. He said that prior to carrying out the kissan carwan, all the farmers' organizations of country will be consulted at Mansoorah.Ha fiz Naeemur Rehman said that the demand of Bilawal Bhutto regarding provision of the help to flood affectees through Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) is irrelevant, BISP is completely a fraud and likewise the kissan card scheme of Punjab government is also mere deception and showcasing step. He said that the farmers of the flood affected areas should be given Rs 25 thousand per acre and per maund price of wheat should be fixed at Rs 4500 with consultations. He said that flour to masses and seeds, fertilizers and pesticides to farmers should be given on subsidy rates. He said that next week Jamaat-e-Islami will hold consultations with farmers' organizations and after that kissan carwan will be announced. He said that the historic Ijtima-e-Aam of the JI going to be held at Minar-e-Pakistan from 21st October to 23rd October will be the start of change in outdated system.
