Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said Jinnah Medical Complex will be developed as a tertiary care hospital of international standards.

Chairing a review meeting on Jinnah Medical Complex and Research Centre in Islamabad, he directed that digitization of the medical complex and the integration of artificial intelligence be ensured.

The concept design of the complex prepared free of cost by the Chinese company Hongkong-AOHUA, was presented in the meeting.

The Prime Minister said the Chinese company's gesture of creating a world-class concept design for a Pakistani hospital without any charge is a living testament to the strong Pakistan-China friendship and people-to-people ties. He said this gift from the Chinese company will always be remembered by the Government, the people of Pakistan, and those who will receive treatment at this hospital.

Shehbaz Sharif said it is encouraging that the concept design includes a comprehensive emergency response plan to deal with any future pandemics.

The Prime Minister directed that environmental protection, water conservation and efficient use of resources be prioritized in the project.

He expressed satisfaction over the inclusion of solar energy, better utilization of natural light, water recycling and steps to ensure greenery in the design.

Shehbaz Sharif also directed that the Jinnah Medical Complex system be digitally integrated with other hospitals in Islamabad.

He instructed the officials to ensure that all steps related to the construction of the Jinnah Medical Complex are completed within the stipulated timeframe.
