JKLF expresses serious concern over the biased Jammu TADA court proceedings against Yasin Malik and his associates

Islamabad: The Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has expressed very serious concerns over the undemocratic and biased court proceedings of TADA court Jammu especially in Rubaiya Syed and Airforce cases filed against illegally incarcerated chairman JKLF Muhammad Yasin Malik and his associates (taken as co-accused) namely; Showkat A. Bakhshi, Javed A. Zargar, M. Iqbal Gandroo, Manzoor A. Sofi, Sheikh Mehraj-ud-Din, Eng. Ali Muhammad Mir and M. Zaman Mir.

In a statement issued from party's central information office, the JKLF chief spokesman Muhammad Rafiq Dar informed the media that during one of the recent court hearings, the Kashmir based senior lawyer Adv. Muhammad Abdullah Pandit while representing Yasin Malik has requested for reproduction of uncross-examined witnesses against Mr. Malik.

The senior lawyer while raising many serious objections over some of the past court proceedings has asked the honourable court that confirming the changed statements of these few so called witnesses without any cross examination as final is unlawful and deemed as murder of justice.

According to the statement, Adv. Pandit has requested the production of these witnesses again in the court of law for cross examinations so that the court is guided and helped well in reaching to any conclusion.

According to the statement, Adv. Pandit informed the court that such cases have been filed against the accused on political reasons. He termed the act as political victimisation of the most popular pro-freedom political leader of the State of Jammu Kashmir.

Meanwhile, the JKLF Spokesman M. Rafiq Dar, on behalf of party leadership, paid glowing tributes to Shaheed Khawaja Abdul Gani Lone and Shaheed Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq on their martyrdom anniversaries. He termed the blatant murder of these valiant and visionary Kashmiri political leaders as great national loss.
