JKSDMI Delegation Meets Pakistan’s High Commissioner in London, Receives Appreciation Shields for Services to Kashmir Cause

London:A high-level delegation of the Jammu Kashmir Self Determination Movement International (JKSDMI), led by its Founding Chairman Raja Najabat Hussain (Sitara-e-Pakistan), attended a special luncheon meeting with Pakistan's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Tipu Usman, at the Pakistan High Commission in London on Thursday, 8 October 2026.

The delegation included former Lord Mayor of Manchester Councillor Yasmine Dar, Chairperson of the International Lobby on Kashmir; Councillor Naila Sharif, Chairperson JKSDMI UK; Javed Tariq, General Secretary JKSDMI UK; Harry Boota, Administration Director JKSDMI; former Lord Mayor of Bradford Raja Ghazanfer Khaliq; Councillor Dr Zulfiqar Ali JP; Abdul Wahab Qadiri, Chairman JKSDMI South of England; Nadia Jahfery, Chairperson JKSDMI London Region; Councillor Rahil Shafiq, Chairman JKSDMI North East of England; Councillor Nadeem Shahid, President of Pakistanis for Labour; Ms Naz Majeed, and other prominent members of the organisation.

Also present at the meeting were Deputy High Commissioner Haseeb Bin Aziz, Political First Secretary Sarfraz Khan, Press Attaché Ali Nawaz, and Naila Israr.

High Commissioner Tipu Usman warmly welcomed the JKSDMI delegation and expressed his appreciation for the organisation's longstanding commitment to highlighting the Kashmir issue and promoting a positive image of Pakistan throughout the United Kingdom.

He acknowledged the valuable contributions of JKSDMI in strengthening community engagement, building relationships with British parliamentarians and political leaders, and raising awareness of the Kashmir cause at various national and international forums.

During the meeting, Raja Najabat Hussain formally introduced the delegation to the newly appointed High Commissioner and provided a comprehensive briefing on JKSDMI's organisational structure, objectives, achievements, and ongoing activities across different cities and regions of the United Kingdom.

He highlighted the movement's extensive lobbying efforts within the British Parliament, major British political parties, local authorities, and wider political and diplomatic circles, aimed at drawing international attention to the Kashmir dispute and the human rights situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Raja Najabat Hussain also reaffirmed JKSDMI's determination to continue its peaceful political and diplomatic campaign for the internationally recognised right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people.

In recognition of their dedication, hard work, and continued services, High Commissioner Tipu Usman presented appreciation shields to JKSDMI representatives on behalf of the Government of Pakistan.

The delegation expressed its sincere gratitude to the High Commissioner and the Government of Pakistan for recognising the organisation's efforts and reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with the Pakistan High Commission in advancing the Kashmir cause and strengthening relations between the British Pakistani and Kashmiri communities.

Concluding the meeting, Raja Najabat Hussain extended a formal invitation to High Commissioner Tipu Usman to participate in JKSDMI's forthcoming events and activities across the United Kingdom.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with a shared commitment to continued cooperation, stronger community engagement, and sustained diplomatic and parliamentary efforts to highlight the Kashmir issue at every available forum.
