Islamabad: On the appeal of Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, Kashmir and Palestine Rights Day was commemorated in various cities of northern Punjab. The observance witnessed significant participation from Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) workers and citizens, reaffirming solidarity with oppressed populations in Kashmir and Palestine.

A key seminar in this regard was held at the Islamic Center in Gujrat, where Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Punjab, Dr. Tariq Saleem, delivered a strong address condemning the Indian and Israeli actions in Kashmir and Gaza respectively.

Dr. Tariq Saleem described August 5, 2019, as the darkest day in Kashmir's history, referencing India's revocation of Articles 370 and 35A, which removed the special constitutional status of Jammu and Kashmir. He asserted that this move stripped Kashmiris of their basic human and legal rights, exposing what he termed as the "true face of Indian imperialism."

Highlighting the dire situation in Palestine, Dr. Tariq Saleem condemned Israel's ongoing military aggression in Gaza, attributing the humanitarian crisis-marked by the martyrdom of children, women, and civilians-to unchecked brutality under the protection of global powers, particularly the United States. He criticized the silence of the Muslim world, stating it emboldens oppressive regimes.

Dr. Tariq Saleem emphasized that despite the deployment of over 500,000 Indian troops and oppressive tactics in Kashmir-including curfews, political arrests, and communication blackouts-the Kashmiri spirit remains unbroken. He reaffirmed Pakistan's unwavering support for the Kashmiri freedom struggle.

He concluded by urging the United Nations to break its silence and take meaningful action against what he termed India's unilateral and unconstitutional measures in occupied Kashmir, which he said flagrantly violate international resolutions.
