Khawaja Asif , Mehmood Khan Achakzai meet in NA on matter of likely talks

Islamabad: An important movement forward has been witnessed between government and opposition with reference to possible talks amid the reports that a meeting has taken place between defence minister Khawaja Asif and chief of Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP) Mehmood Khan Achakzai in National Assembly (NA).

The two leaders exchanged views on political situation in the country and other key matters.

Mehmood Khan Achakzai himself went to the seat of Khawaja Asif and met him.

The prevailing political situation in the country, parliamentary environment and offer extended by government to opposition for negotiations came under discussion in the meeting.

According to sources, Khawaja Asif while talking to Mehmood Khan Achakzai said government is looking forward to opposition reply to the offer made by Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif for talks.

He hoped that a positive development will take place with reference to talks.

Khawaja Asif urged Mehmood Khan Achakzai to give positive reply with reference to negotiations so that solution to political issues be found through dialogue.

The meeting is being dubbed important in the prevailing political situation.

Parliamentary circles are terming it part of continuity of in contacts between government and opposition.
