Kidnapping of children from across the country: SC constitutional bench summons representative of FCPC

Islamabad: Supreme Court (SC) constitutional bench has summoned representative of Federal Commission for Protection of Children (FCPC) on next hearing in the case related to kidnapping of children from across the country.

A five members constitutional bench of SC presided over by justice Amin ud Din Khan took up the suo moto notice case regarding kidnapping of children from all over the country for hearing Tuesday.

The counsel for the petitioner took the plea court had ordered that Attorney General (AG) should hold meeting with all Inspector General of police ( IGs) . He has not held any meeting with IGs.

Additional Attorney General (AAG) Aamir Rehman said AG had held meeting with IGs.

The counsel said the departments are there for protection of children. But no work is being done.

Justice Amin ud Din remarked he has to do it whose job it is. We cannot do every job.

AAG Aamir Rehman said laws are there with reference to protection of children.

Justice Jamal Mandokhail remarked laws are in place but they are not implemented.

The hearing of the case was adjourned for indefinite period.
