Lahore: The petition against kite flying despite ban came up for hearing in Lahore High Court (LHC).

The court sought further reply in the light of the report filed by home secretary.

The court adjourned further hearing of the case till third week of June.

Justice Malik Owais Khalid took up for hearing the petition filed by Judicial Activism Panel in LHC Thursday.

The petition said illegal kit flying is still continuing in the city despite end of Basant.

Home secretary presented fresh report in the court during the hearing of the case. According to report dozens of citizens lost their lives in different incidents during Basant. However 53 persons were killed during basant. 3 persons died due to electrocution, 2 due to falling from tree and 12 died due to falling from roofs.

65 persons were critically injured in the incidents regarding neck injuries due to use of chemical string.

The court sought reply from home secretary on miscellaneous petition for making some documents part of record. Reply to reply has been sought from the counsel of the petitioner.

It has been requested in the petition that complete details of confiscation of chemical string and kites, registered cases, arrests and sentences during basant be presented in the court.
