Peshawar: Governor KP has summoned KP assembly on July 20. As per media reports, governor while signing Chief Minister (CM) KP summary has summoned KP assembly session.
In this session 25 new members of assembly who have been elected on reserved seats will take oath.
According to parliamentary sources oath will be administered to new members of assembly first of all and then the remaining proceedings will be carried out.
Following oath taking by new members, Senate election will take place on July 21.
KP assembly members will elect 11 senators in Senate election.
Sources said the said senators will remain part of Senate till 2030. New senators include 7 Generals (Retd) , 2 women and 2 technocrats seats.
Talking to media men KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said government and opposition should sit for consultation in connection with Senate polls.
He made it clear if no consultation is made then opposition can bag more Senate seats in the presence of 35 independent members.
He said proposals were given to government to stop horse trading. I had talked to CM KP on KP assembly session held before it. CM however expressed ignorance that earlier sessions were summoned on requisition.
He held government should forge unity in its ranks.
He expressed reservations with reference to tribal districts that these districts have become football between federation and province.
He underlined that big powers keep eye on Afghan border. The state of art arms left there are being used in terrorism against Pakistan at present.
