Peshawar: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi on Saturday directed authorities to adopt a zero-tolerance policy against terrorism and narcotics while chairing a high-level review meeting on the security situation, development portfolio, governance and service delivery in Malakand Division.
The meeting was briefed on the prevailing security situation, ongoing development initiatives, governance performance and public service delivery across the division.
The Chief Minister directed police authorities to expedite investigations into attacks on parliamentarians in Malakand Division, stressing that the protection of citizens’ lives and property remained the government’s foremost priority. He instructed the authorities to take all necessary measures on an urgent basis to ensure public safety and security.
He said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) were being further strengthened through the provision of modern weapons and equipment to enhance their ope
rational capabilities and improve the overall security environment.
Sohail Afridi directed the relevant authorities to pursue a zero-tolerance policy against terrorism and narcotics and undertake coordinated and indiscriminate enforcement operations across Malakand Division to ensure a safe and secure environment for the public.
Reviewing the development portfolio, the Chief Minister directed the authorities concerned to ensure full funding for the Paediatrics Hospital and Arshad Sharif University projects in Swat. He also ordered the establishment of shelters for labourers and the provision of cold drinking water and fans at public places.
“We must assess our performance against tangible improvements in public satisfaction and well-being,” the Chief Minister said.
He directed the administration to further strengthen service delivery, place citizen satisfaction at the centre of performance assessment and continue holding Khuli Kachehris to ensure the timely resolution of public grievances.

s informed that work was underway on 737 development schemes across Malakand Division and that 99 per cent of the allocated development funds had been utilized.
Participants were further informed that the fortification of police infrastructure across the division was progressing, with 14 Police Facilitation Centres operational and three additional centres under construction.
Members of the National and Provincial Assemblies from Malakand Division, the Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Inspector General of Police, Divisional Commissioner, Regional Police Officer and other senior officials attended the meeting.
