Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has taken multiple measures to enhance public service, ensure law and order, and improve infrastructure across the province.

The Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department conducted a crackdown on property tax defaulters in Kohat, sealing several commercial and residential units on Pindi Road and Markaz Road. The department reminded the public that timely payment of taxes is a legal obligation essential for provincial development.

In Peshawar, Provincial Minister Syed Fakhar Jehan paid a surprise visit to the Excise Registration Directorate, interacting directly with citizens and inspecting departmental services. The Minister instructed officers to resolve grievances promptly, ensure courteous service, and maintain transparency and efficiency in all public dealings.

Meanwhile, KP Minister for Public Health Engineering, Fazal Shakoor Khan, visited Abbottabad to inspect the Gravity Flow Water Supply Scheme, completed with support from Japan and JICA at a cost of Rs. 4,270 million. The project provides 3.8 million gallons of safe drinking water per day to over 235,000 residents. The Minister emphasized continuous monitoring, maintenance, and strict quality control to ensure sustainable service delivery.

Separately, Shafi Jan, Special Assistant to the KP Chief Minister on Information and Public Relations, condemned a terrorist attack on a police mobile van in Karak, which killed one Assistant Sub-Inspector and five personnel. He reaffirmed the provincial government's commitment to law and order and highlighted measures to strengthen the Counter Terrorism Department and Special Branch with an approved Rs. 17 billion package. A Jirga held in the Provincial Assembly issued a 15-point unanimous declaration for the restoration of peace.
