Lahore: The Kuwait-Pakistan Business Expo 2025 will be held from December 11 to 13, 2025, in Kuwait to promote Pakistani products and further strengthen economic relations between the two brotherly nations.This was announced by Muhammad Saleem, head of a four-member Kuwaiti delegation, during a meeting at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI). LCCI President Faheem-ur-Rehman Saigol delivered the welcome address, while Senior Vice President Tanveer Ahmad Sheikh, Vice President Khurram Lodhi, and delegation members Mohammad Siraj, Nadeem Virk, Sylvester Sam, and others were also present.Muhammad Saleem said that the Expo would serve as a key platform for Pakistani entrepreneurs to showcase their potential and strengthen their presence in the Gulf region. He emphasized that Pakistan and Kuwait enjoy historic and friendly relations and urged business communities on both sides to explore joint ventures for mutual benefit.LCCI President Faheem-ur-Rehman Saigol appreciated the efforts to enhance trade and investment ties between the two countries. He said Pakistan and Kuwait share a long-standing bond of trust and cooperation, noting that Kuwait has always supported Pakistan in times of need.Citing State Bank of Pakistan data, he said bilateral trade currently stands at $1.8 billion, with Pakistan's exports to Kuwait at $113 million and imports at $1.68 billion in 2024-25. Pakistan mainly exports meat, rice, fish, textiles, and vegetables, while importing petroleum products from Kuwait.Saigol expressed optimism that the Kuwait-Pakistan Business Expo 2025 would serve as a catalyst for diversifying trade, creating investment opportunities, and achieving a balanced trade relationship. He said there is vast potential to expand Pakistan's exports in pharmaceuticals, surgical instruments, sports goods, auto parts, construction materials, and IT services, as well as through joint ventures in Halal food, mining, healthcare, renewable energy, and tourism.Highlighting the global Halal food market-valued at over $5 trillion-Saigol stressed that Pakistan's share remains below 1% despite its agricultural strength and expertise in food processing. He called for a stronger focus on Halal certification, branding, and value addition to unlock export potential.LCCI Senior Vice President Tanveer Ahmad Sheikh termed the upcoming Expo a 'golden opportunity' to strengthen B2B relations and emphasized that Pakistani industries can successfully compete in the Gulf market. He assured full cooperation from LCCI in promoting the event through its communication platforms to ensure maximum participation from Pakistani businesses.LCCI Vice President Khurram Lodhi presented the vote of thanks, reaffirming the Chamber's commitment to fostering stronger trade and investment ties between Pakistan and Kuwait.
