Islamabad: Petition filed by Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chatha against the trial court order came up for hearing before Islamabad High Court (IHC) Monday.
Justice Azam Khan initiated proceedings of the case.
Imaan Mazari, Hadi Ali Chatha., members Islamabad bar council , Raja Aleem Abbasi, Zafar Khokhar and several counsels appeared in the court.
During the hearing of the case Riasat Ali Azad took the plea trial is not running in transparent manner. The statement of the witnesses were recorded in the absence of the accused persons. This is against the norms of the just trial.
He said trial court is not giving the right of fair trial.
The court inquired what proceedings took place on November 24.
Hadi Ali Chatha told he had filed application that the statements of the witnesses be recorded in the presence of the accused persons. But the plea was rejected.
The counsels took the plea trial can not move ahead in the event of one day exemption.
In permanent exemption, the proceedings can continue with the presence of the pleader.
Justice Azam Khan said counsels should tell according to law as to why the trial cannot run due to exemption of one day.
The counsels for the petitioner requested for stopping the proceedings of trial court for one day.
The court said the matter will be seen. Order will be issued in this regard.
Further hearing of the case was adjourned.
