Gilgit-Baltistan:Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Raja Shehbaz Khan has said Local Bodies (LB) polls in GB will be held in two phases.

In first phase the Municipal Corporation polls will be held in three cities on December 5.

Talking to media men Raja Shehbaz Khan said Local Government amendment act-2026 has been approved.

Nomination papers will be filed from October 26.

The election in second phase will be held in April 2027. They will include union councils, district councils and municipal committees elections.

He said election will be held on multi ward basis. The representation of women will be 17 percent.

There will be reserved seats for special persons, youths and minorities.
