LHC allows health department for conditional appointment of professors of neurosurgery

Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) has allowed health department Punjab to appoint professors of neurosurgery with condition.

The court while withdrawing its stay order which was earlier issued has made it clear the appointment will be linked to final decision of the court.

Justice Muhammad Raza Qureshi took up the case for hearing Thursday.

The counsel for the petitioner argued Dr Ijaz and Dr Ajmal were appointed as neuro surgens with the approval of Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC). But the process of their appointment is not being completed due to stay order by the court.

According to counsel PPSC had not recommended appointment of the petitioner Dr Irfan. Therefore, it is requested that the stay order issued against appointment of professor of neuro surgery be withdrawn so that health department could complete process of appointment.

The court while withdrawing stay order allowed health department of Punjab for conditional appointment. However it was made clear the appointments will remain conditional to the final decision of the court.
