Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued stay order on the petition against imposing fixed charges in electricity bills.Justice Muhammad Raza Shah Qureshi of LHC took up for hearing petition filed by 9 companies against levying fixed charges by LESCO in electricity bills.Federal government, LESCO and others have been made respondents in the petition.Khawaja Wasim Abbas advocate appeared on behalf of the petitioners in the court.The petitioners took the plea that LESCO has started levying fixed charges in the electricity bills. No approval has been obtained by LESCO for charging fixed charges. Obtaining approval from cabinet and NEPRA for imposing fixed charges is imperative.It was further said in the petition that LESCO has sent bill of Rs 32 lac while no electricity was used. Bill of Rs 57 lac was sent last month while electricity bill of Rs 1 crore 56 lac has been sent this month.The court is requested to issue order for abolishing fixed charges.The court issued stay order on the applicati on filed against charging of fixed charges.
