LHC moved by religious party for taking the bodies of workers from Muridkey , taking injured to hospital for treatment

Lahore: The petition for collecting bodies of the workers of religious party from Murid key and treatment of the injured in the hospitals came up for hearing in Lahore High Court (LHC) Thursday.

LHC removed objection over the petition and directed the registrar office to fix it for hearing.

It is pertinent to mention here registrar office had raised objection that correct authority letter was not attached with the petition.

Later Justice Shehram Sarwar Chaudhry took up for hearing the petition filed by the religious party through Usman Naeem advocate.

Federal government, Lahore Police and others have been made respondents in the petition.

The petition said police conducted operation against peaceful march of the religious party in Muridkey. They waited for 36 hours to hold talks with the administration in Muridkey . The workers were subjected to violence by government through armored vehicles and helicopter.

The petition further said straight firing was made on the workers of religious party from helicopter. As many as 600 workers lost their lives due to firing by police and law enforcement agencies. Police and Rangers threw several bodies in nullah and several were set ablaze.

The court was requested through the petition to order for stopping the ongoing operation by police immediately . The religious party be allowed to take bodies from Muridkey and take the injured to hospital for treatment.
