Lahore: Petition has been filed in Lahore High Court (LHC) for ensuring free and uninterrupted supply of medicines in all government hospitals of Punjab.
This is the first petition of the new year 2026.
The petition has been filed by Azhar Siddique chairman Judicial Activism Panel here Thursday.
The petitioner took the plea complaints are pouring in about non availability of life saving and other medicines in the government hospitals.
The patients are forced to buy medicines from private pharmacies at higher cost due to non availability of medicines in government hospitals.
The petition said the shortage of medicines in hospitals is declared violation of articles 9 and 25 of the constitution. The life saving and other essential medicines are not available in the hospitals despite heavy government budget.
It has been requested the court to issue order for providing all necessary medicines in government hospitals forthwith.
