LHC orders to return Rs 7 crore to CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz deposited as guarantee in sugar mills case


Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered to return Rs 7 crore to Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Maryam Nawaz deposited as guarantee in Chaudhry Sugar Mills case.



A 3-member bench of Lahore High Court (LHC) presided over by Chief Justice (CJ) LHC Aalia Neelum took up the case for hearing.



Javed Arshid advocate appeared on behalf of Maryam Nawaz.



Assistant Deputy Attorney General (ADAG) Rafaqat Dogar and NAB Prosecutor Fatima Shahid appeared in the court.



During the hearing of the case NAB counsel filed affidavit for withdrawing petition from constitutional court.



The court while approving CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz plea directed to return to her Rs 7 crores.



The petitioner had taken the plea Rs 7 crores were deposited as guarantee in Chaudhry Sugar Mills case. NAB abolished the case. Therefore, court is requested to order for returning Rs 7 crores deposited in high court.
