LHC restrains Punjab govt from making appointments in KEMU

Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) has restrained Punjab government from making appointments in King Edward Medical University (KEMU).Justice Tariq Salim Sheikh of LHC issued a 3-page written order on the petition against appointments in KEMU.The court has ordered the respondents to file reply till September 17.According to order the respondents will not be able to make any appointment in KEMU till the next hearing of the case. Ban has been imposed on all appointments and transfers in university.The notification issued by Punjab government regarding transfers made in university has also been suspended.It may be mentioned the petitioner had taken plea in his appeal that Punjab government is not empowered to make appointments through transfers in KEMU.He requested the court to declare null and void the appointments made by Punjab government in KEMU.
