Rawalpindi: A division bench of Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench has rejected the petition filed against dismissal of acquittal plea of former federal minister Sheikh Rashid in GHQ attack case.Division bench comprised Justice Mirza Waqas Rauf and Justice Sarfaraz DogarThe court maintained as the accused have been indicted GHQ attack case and now the case is in phase of regular trial, Therefore, the petitioner should appear in ongoing trial in respective court,Anti Terrorism Court Rawalpindi had rejected acquittal plea of Sheikh Rashid Ahmad filed by him under section 265-K of CRPC in GHQ attack case.Sheikh Rashid had challenged the rejection of his acquittal plea by ATC in high court through his counsel Sardar Abdul Razzaq.Sheikh Rashid could not appear in the court during previous hearing being in Saudi Arabia for performance of Umrah. However his counsels Sardar Abul Razzaq and Sardar Shahbaz Khan were present in the court.The court dismissed Sheikh Rashid petition after hearing the a rguments of the lawyers.The court directed as this case is in the phase of trial therefore the petitioner should appear before the competent court.
