Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) has sought reply from FIA on the petition against issuing notice to the journalists.Justice Asjad Javed Ghural took up the petition for hearing Wednesday.Barrister Hasnain Chaudhry appeared on behalf of the journalists.The counsel for the petitioner took the plea journalists appeared before FIA following the issuance of notice to them.The petitioner sought list of charges which has not been provided so far. FIA has issued notice for exparte action on August 29 without providing list of allegations.The counsel for petitioner said FIA keep sit the citizens whole day long and degrades them. It is feared that journalists will be arrested if they appear before FIA.The state counsel opposed the petition filed by journalists.Justice Asjad Javed Ghural while expressing resentment over FIA attitude with citizens remarked no one can prevent institutions from initiating proceedings but they should proceed as per law.Justice Asjad Javed Ghural remarked it has become habit of FIA, Anti Corruption and other institutions to call the citizens and keep them sitting . The institutions keep the citizens sitting for the reason that they have no material to move the inquiries ahead.The court while ordering FIA to give detailed reply within two weeks remarked FIA first should file reply in the court first then court will see this matter.The court while seeking reply from FIA on the petition against issuance of notice by it to the journalists adjourned the hearing of the case for further two weeks.
