Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) has sought reply from DG FIA and Chairman Punjab Quran Board (PQB) on the petition of engineer Muhammad Ali.

The petition filed by engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza against FIA investigation came up for hearing before Justice Shehram Sarwar of LHC.

FIA and PQB have been made respondents in the petition.

Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza has filed petition through Nabil Javed Kahloon.

The petitioner has taken the plea that FIA has started investigation against him without issuing him notice. FIA sent the video from social media to PQB for fatwa. PQB declared the petitioner guilty on the basis of old video.

The petition said PQB is not authorized to issue any fatwa (decree) and it only sees publication matters of the Holy Quran.

The petitioner requested the court through petition to nullify the fatwa issued against him besides ordering for terminating investigation against him.
