LHC seeks reply from government on the petition against 3 months vacations in Punjab

Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) has sought reply from government on the petition filed against 3 months vacations in educational institutions in Punjab.Justice Khalid Ishaq took up for hearing petition filed by Private Schools Federation.The petition said Punjab government issued notification for keeping educational institutions shut for three months in connection with summer vacations. The education year was reduced to 120 days while in US, England and other major countries, the education year contains 230 days.According to petitioner the study of the students will be adversely affected due to closure of educational institutions for three months. No society can be put on the path to progress without education. Therefore, the court should nullify the notification for closing the educational institutions for three months besides ordering to announce summer vacations from 6 to 8 weeks.The court rejected the plea for staying immediate implementation of notification for3 months vacations , issued notice to Punjab government and others and sought reply from them.
