Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) Election Tribunal (ET) has dismissed petition seeking annulment of notification of success of PML-N candidate from PP-51 Sialkot.

Election tribunal led by justice Sultan Tanvir Ahmad took up for hearing petition seeking revocation of notification in respect of PML-N successful candidate from PP-51.

Imran Chadhar advocate appeared on behalf of successful PML-N candidate Mian Zeeshan Rafiq.

ET announced reserved judgment.

The petitioner took the plea that the candidate who was declared successful secured 35000 votes while the petitioner obtained more than 50000 votes. Returning officer changed the result in connivance. Therefore, ET should nullify notification of success of PML-N candidate issued by election commission.

Imran Chadhar counsel for PML-N candidate said in his arguments the petitioner has no proof of his success. The hearing cannot be moved forward on the petition without evidence. It is therefore, requested that tribunal should dismiss the petition declaring it non maintainable.
