Local Govt elections in Islamabad to be held on 15th of February next year: ECP

Islamabad: The Local Government elections in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) will be held on 15th of February next year.

According to a notification issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday, the aspiring candidates can submit their nomination papers with the Returning Officers from 22nd to 27th of this month, while the initial list of the candidates will be published on 29th of this month.

The scrutiny of the nomination papers will be conducted from 30th of December to 3rd of next month, while appeals against acceptance or rejection of the nomination papers can be filed from 5th to 8th of next month.

The revised lists of the candidates will be released on 14th of January. The candidates can withdraw their names on 15th of next month while final list of the candidates will be issued on the same day.

Allotment of Election symbols to contesting candidates along with their names will be held on 16th of January, while polling for local government election in the territorial jurisdiction of the federal capital will be held on 15th of February, Sunday.
