Making policy is job of executive: FCC

Islamabad: Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) has ordered in the case pertaining to wheat quota that making policy is mandate of executive.

Sindh government appeal in wheat quota case came up for hearing before a 3-member bench of FCC presided over by Justice (CJ) Amin ud Din Khan Thursday.

The court gave order that making policy is job of executive.

It is pertinent to mention here Sindh government had filed appeal against SHC Sukkar Bench May 31, 2023 decision in Supreme Court .

Additional Advocate General Sindh Sabtain Mehmood appeared in the court during the hearing of the case.

He took the plea what guidelines were given by SHC were not under the constitution.

Additional Attorney General Munawar Dogal told the court that the powers to make policy rest with the executive.

Justice Ali Baqar Najafi remarked Executive makes policy and then makes its announcement

The court while nullifying SHC decision accepted appeal of Sindh government.

It is pertinent to mention here Flour mill owner had resorted to SHC to acquire wheat quota.
