Rawalpindi: The court has awarded death sentence on two counts and 7 years imprisonment to a man for raping, killing brutally his step sister and later desecrating her body.

Additional Session Afshan Ejaz Sufi in a local court has awarded death sentence on two counts and 7 years imprisonment to accused Azhar for raping and killing her step sister heinously.

The court wrote in the decision that the criminal be kept hanging till his death.

The court handed Azhar the death penalty and a Rs100,000 fine for murder, another death sentence and Rs200,000 fine for rape, and seven years in prison with Rs100,000 fine for attempting to destroy evidence.

According to prosecution the convict step brother Azhar first raped her step sister and then murdered her in heinous way.

Rawat police had registered case on August 25, 2023. The criminal was shifted to jail following the announcement of punishment.
