Islamabad: JI has announced country wide strike all over the country on May 15 against unprecedented hike in the prices of petroleum products, unbridled inflation and lawlessness.

JI Amir Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman has said ruling class has slid country into economic quagmire. On one side aero planes and bullet proof vehicles are being purchased and on the other side the homes of poor people are being demolished., he said this while addressing a press conference here Tuesday.

He held inflation is rampant in the country due to the hike in the prices of petroleum products.

As per international market the price of per liter oil stands at Rs 271. Levy of Rs 171 has been imposed and petrol is available at the rate of Rs 401 per liter by including other taxes.

He alleged advertisements of billion of rupees in the name of uncle and niece run daily. These advertisements are bringing burden of billion of rupees on the shoulders of poor masses.

He remarked petroleum levy is tyrannical. Tax targets and IMF orders are being met.

He indicated 1.9 trillion rupees were received during the three years in the name of electricity taxes.

He said Maryam Nawaz has purchased aero plane worth Rs 11 billion and senate chairman Yusuf Raza Gillani has purchased vehicle valuing Rs 9 crore. On the other hand people are forced to commit suicide.

The prices of petroleum products have not increased in India and Bangladesh. Are the impacts of war falling only on Pakistan.

He announced JI is going to give major call against inflation after EID.

He said a big protest will be staged in Islamabad against inflation on May 15.

If tax targets are not being met in Pakistan then FBR is doing what.

Petrol bombs are being dropped on the nation while Maryam Bibi is purchasing aeroplane. Petrol can be provided at the rate of Rs 250 per liter.

Government governance is not visible any where. Fixed charges are being levied on electricity and gas. Subsidy of consumers consuming 200 units is being abolished. Poverty rate has surged by 40 percent. In Punjab poverty rate has reached 41 percent, the higher than all other provinces.

Atta is becoming expensive in market. Sharif family is responsible for all this loot and plunder spree.

He pointed out Owais Leghari was not ready to talk to IPPs. Government struck deal with 15 out of 100 IPPs and they are waiting when the agreements of remaining IPPs will expire. They will not suspend agreements. They will extend the agreements for the sake of their corruption.

He observed PDM alliance is run with a button and the button lies with those who have formed form 47 government. They have not allowed JI member to become mayor of Karachi under coercion.

He held UAE had given 500 million dollars for ittesalat which have now become 5 billon dollars. Why government has paid 3 billion dollars. and government has returned and why reduction was not made in them.

Corruption of Rs 1300 billion has been committed in FBR.

There are two systems in the country. One is for one constitution avenue and second is for Katchi abadis.

NASLA Tower Karachi was demolished and one constitution avenue is running, he added.
