May 9 related cases: SC adjourns hearing of bail plea of Imran Khan till today

Islamabad: Supreme Court (SC) has adjourned hearing of bail plea of PTI founder Imran Khan till today (Thursday) due to non availability of prosecutor..

Rejecting the plea from the counsel for allowing family member of Imran Khan to talk Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi said I will not allow any family member of Imran Khan to talk to court.

The CJP remarked too we want to ask from prosecution first. Prosecution will first tell how should Lahore High Court (LHC) decision be maintained. We have asked from prosecution is this decision liable to be maintained. When prosecution satisfies then your turn will come.

Suleman Safdar said during it 8 months have passed. First this case remained stuck in LHC. At least 8 prosecutors were changed. So many adjournments were sought. I have become fed up with these adjournments.

Hearing of bail plea of Imran Khan in May 9 cases was adjourned in SC due to non availability of prosecutor.

The assistant counsel told the court at the inception of hearing prosecutor is suffering from food poisoning.

The CJP Yahya Afridi remarked " seek adjournment till tomorrow. We will hear this case at 10-30 a.m tomorrow.

Barrister Suleman Safdar counsel for PTI founder told the court " please hear our stance today.

The CJP remarked we want to ask from prosecution first. Prosecution will tell first how the LHC decision be kept maintained. We have asked from Prosecution is this decision liable to be maintained. When prosecution satisfies they your turn will come.

The CJP remarked we are not giving long adjournment. We are fixing date tomorrow.

Barrister Suleman Safdar said PTI founder family wants to say some thing to court.

The CJP remarked I will not allow any member of his family to talk to court.

Later the court adjourned the hearing of the case till today (Thursday).
