LOWER DIR:5 children have died as a result of outbreak of measles in two areas of Lower Dir.

Measles have broken out in remote areas of Ghaura Banda,, Khur Banda in Lower Dir resulting into death of 5 children. Several areas have been affected due to measles.

The children affected by measles are under treatment in hospital.

According to authorities ,district administration and teams of health department are on high alert due to grave situation.

Deputy Commissioner Dir Lower Basharat Ahmad and district health officer undertook emergency visit of affected areas and condoled with the bereaved families .

Health department teams have started vaccination process in affected areas.
