Peshawar: Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Wildlife, Pir Musavir Khan, and the Secretary of Wildlife met with a delegation from the Crane Union of the southern districts, led by the Provincial Minister for public health Engineering.

Malik Pakhtoon Yar Khan. During the meeting, the delegation discussed matters related to crane hunting, the issuance of licenses, and other issues. The Provincial Minister informed that the provincial government would amend the rules to discourage and strictly prohibit crane hunting using shotguns or other automatic weapons. A formal case will be registered under relevant laws for hunting cranes with shotguns. In the future, the government will only issue licenses to those who hunt cranes using traditional methods, and the rules will be amended accordingly. This initiative by the provincial government will promote crane hunting through traditional methods. Special Assistant Pir Musavir Khan stated that a project to increase the crane population will soon begin, and its formal approval will be granted by the provincial government.

He further mentioned that, after Eid ul-Fitr, he, along with Provincial Minister Pakhtoon Yar Khan and the Secretary of Wildlife, will visit the southern districts to meet with the Crane Union. Amendments to the rules will be made with the union's suggestions and consultations.
