Member finance be appointed in PTI tribunal till May 18 otherwise PM should appear : IHC

Islamabad: Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani of Islamabad High Court (IHC) has said member finance be appointed in PTA Tribunal till May 18 otherwise Prime Minister (PM) should appear and tell the reason regarding non-appointment.

The case regarding non-appointment of member finance in PTI Tribunal came up for hearing in IHC.

Giving remarks during the hearing of the case Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani said if member finance is not appointed till May 18 then PM will have to appear in the court.

He remarked PM should himself appear and tell the court why member finance of tribunal has not been appointed so far.

The court summoned secretary cabinet and secretary in next hearing.

Assistant Attorney General (AAG) told the court that a retired judge has been appointed as member of tribunal.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani remarked retired judges have ruined all things . They are too much eager to go to tribunals.

He remarked they remember salutes at night and these salutes don't allow them to sleep.

The court further remarked some one goes to NIRC and some one to some other tribunal. But the process of appointments in the institutions should be timely and transparent.

Further hearing of the case was adjourned till May 18.
