Message of Senator Nasir Abbas on on the 36th anniversary of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini

Islamabad: On the 36th anniversary of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini's (R.A) passing, we commemorate a revolutionary leader whose resolute commitment to justice, dignity, and resistance against oppression continues to inspire global movements. As the architect of Iran's 1979 Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini redefined Islamic governance, championing the cause of the oppressed and fostering unity among Muslims. His doctrine of Velayat-e Faqih empowered communities to challenge tyranny, leaving a lasting legacy in contemporary struggles for rights and self-determination across the Middle East and beyond.

A cornerstone of Khomeini's vision was his unwavering support for the Palestinian cause. By establishing Quds Day in 1979, observed annually on the last Friday of Ramadan, he galvanized global solidarity for Palestinians, emphasizing Muslim unity against injustice. Similarly, he drew parallels between the struggles of Palestinians and Kashmiris, urging collective support for their right to self-determination. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has upheld this stance, advocating for the liberation of oppressed peoples in Palestine, Kashmir, and beyond.

Today, as Palestinians and Kashmiris persist in their fight for justice, Imam Khomeini's legacy remains a powerful symbol of resistance, inspiring movements to confront oppression with unwavering faith and moral conviction. His teachings continue to guide those striving for dignity and freedom in an era of ongoing global challenges.
