Karachi: Sindh High Court (SHC) has sought progress report from investigation officer on next hearing in recovery of missing citizen case.
A 2-member bench of SHC presided over by Justice Zafar Ahmad Rajput took up for hearing the petition related to recovery of a person who has gone missing from Latif Town.
SSP Investigation South Ali Hassan and SSP Investigation Malir Asif appeared in the court.
The court sought progress report from investigation officer on next hearing.
The petitioner said his brother was arrested by police and vandalized his home. Police took away jewelry and motorcycle of his brother.
The counsel for the petitioner took the plea police took into custody citizen Musawar from the area of Shah Latif. Police have shown motorcycle. However Musawar Hussain is still missing. He should be got recovered.
Police said missing citizen is involved in several cases of robberies.
The court remarked investigation is needed for jewelry but tell us why motorcycle was taken .
Police said motorcycle was standing without owner and was used in dacoity of 50 lac. The evidence of involvement of motorcycle in dacoity came to light in geo fencing.
Justice Zafar Rajpur gave remarks while expressing surprise guess is made about person in geo-fencing but how can motorcycle be guessed. Vehicle outside the home is not ownerless. This way police may lift the vehicles in the entire city.
The court directed police to make investigation and not to go for loot and plunder. Otherwise court will issue stern orders.
Justice Zafar Ahmad Rajput while giving remarks said service and posting of respective police personnel can be affected due to our orders.
The court while expressing resentment remarked if they want to do what they will then society be declared forest first. They should say they have stick and that is the law what they will want.
If we are in some civilized society then civilized societies run due to institutions.
The investigation officers said give us time we will inform the court about all the situation.
Later the court while directing to inform it about progress in the case adjourned the hearing till August 22.
