Islamabad: Defence ministry while admitting to keep citizen Mudassar Hussain who had gone missing from Muzaffarabad in March 2024 under its custody has said he is under-trial accused and case is running against him in military court.

This report was presented before Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday.

The court while directing to arrange meeting of Mudassar Hussain with his family adjourned the hearing of the case .

Missing persons case came up for hearing before single bench of IHC led by Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani Friday.

Defence ministry filed its report during the hearing of the case.

The report said that Mudassar Hussain who went missing from Muzaffarabad in March 2024 has been traced out. Mudassar Hussain is under trial accused. Case against him is running in military court.

The counsel for the petitioner requested the court to order for arranging meeting of Mudassar Hussain with his family members.

The court directed representative of ministry of defence to arrange meeting of Mudassar Hussain with his family members as per law.

Lawyer Emaan Mazari and other appeared in court on behalf of the petitioner Nazma Fateh Yab.

Assistant Attorney General and Brig (Retd) Falak Naz appeared in the court from the side of defence ministry.
