Dera ghazi khan: Member National Assembly Syed Qasim Gilani has raised serious concerns over the deteriorating law and order situation in Dera Ghazi Khan, terming the incidents at various polling stations alarming and unacceptable.
In a post on X, Qasim Gilani said that the police taking control of entire polling stations was deeply regrettable and condemnable. He stated that holding Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) polling agents hostage was an act of blatant misconduct and a direct attack on a free and fair electoral process.
He claimed that PPP had secured a clear lead at 90% of polling stations in urban areas, yet there were visible attempts to delay results and create pressure. He added that in some rural areas, results were being reported beyond the number of votes actually cast - an indication of serious rigging.
Calling for immediate investigations into the alleged electoral irregularities, Qasim Gilani demanded strict action against those involved. He asserted that no attempt to sabotage a transparent electoral process would be tolerated.
