Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with Secretary General of Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (JUP), Allama Shah Awais Noorani, and the two exchanged views at length on religious harmony and national unity .
During the meeting it was agreed that no action would be taken against any innocent. Those found innocent would be released. No religious school (madrasa) will be closed and extremists will be dealt with heavy hand.
Interior minister said no one would be allowed to take law into hands. Permission to raise arms against the state cannot be given at all. There is no room for the extremists and terrorists in Pakistan of Quaid-e-Azam.
He said the elements fomenting lawlessness , chaos and extremism will be dealt with iron hands.
The services of Ulema in forging religious harmony are commendable. Promoting religious education is shared obligation of all of us.
Allama Shah Owais Noorani said they will extend every possible cooperation for fostering durable peace, harmony and brotherhood.
