ýislamabad: Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi visited the National Police Academy. Following the shortage of rooms, the upgradation project of the academy has been expedited.He tasked the authorities with completing the construction of the 126-room, 11-storey hostel within five months.ýThe Interior Minister inspected the under progress construction work of the hostel and reiterated that there would be no compromise on quality along with pace. He inspected the swimming pool of the Academy and witnessed a swimming competition among trainee police officers. He appreciated the probationers and instructors.ýýThe Interior Minister also visited the classrooms of the trainee officers and met them. He visited the officers' mess, sat with ASPs, and checked the quality of food. He also sought suggestions from trainee officers.Mohsin Naqvi also chaired an important meeting at the National Police Academy, in which the progress on the restructuring of the Academy and the implementation status of decisions taken in the previous meeting were reviewed. Progress was also reviewed regarding the decision of attaching trainee officers with FIA, forensic agency, and other institutions.ýýDuring the briefing, the Deputy Commandant of the National Police Academy informed that approval has been granted to award Master degrees in Criminology and Police Studies to ASPs undertaking the National Command Course. It was further informed that the training program includes regular visits to police stations, attachments in Safe City projects, FIA, Cybercrime, and Forensics.ýýThe trainee ASPs thanked Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi for improving facilities at the National Police Academy. The Deputy Commandant of the National Police Academy, Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Member Engineering CDA, and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.
