Islamabad: A laptop distribution ceremony under the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme was held at Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. The Chief Guest Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi distributed laptops among students. The Interior Minister congratulated the students who received laptops.
Addressing the ceremony, Mohsin Naqvi said that Islamabad is incomplete without Quaid-i-Azam University and that QAU is a beautiful amalgamation of students from all parts of the country. He stated that facilities for students in Quaid-i-Azam University and other universities would be further improved.
Interior Minister emphasized that encroachments on government land in Islamabad would not be tolerated and that all land would be retrieved from illegal occupants. Encroachers should vacate the land themselves, as the policy in this regard is completely clear. He stressed that wherever encroachments exist in Islamabad, they will be removed entirely. There is a zero-tolerance policy against encroachments.
The Interior Minister further said that Islamabad Vision 2027 would be presented next month, under which a University Town project would also be introduced. The main entrance of Quaid-i-Azam University will be renovated and beautified, and the university auditorium will be upgraded to a modern, state-of-the-art facility. Providing a memorable and conducive educational environment for students is our mission.
Mohsin Naqvi expressed pride in the improvement in Quaid-i-Azam University’s rankings. He stated that the Ministry of Interior has appointed a dedicated coordinator for Quaid-i-Azam University. Under this initiative, the National Police Academy will award degrees through Quaid-i-Azam University to its trainee officers. Collaboration between educational institutions and security institutions will be enhanced.
Mohsin Naqvi added that the laptop scheme is very close to the heart of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. The Vice Chancellor stated that Quaid-i-Azam University has been ranked as the top university in the country for three consecutive years.
The Deputy Commissioner and Additional Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, DIG Operations, faculty members of Quaid-i-Azam University, and other senior officials attended the ceremony.
