Islamabad: Interior Minister Senator Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi extended heartiest congratulations to the Pakistan Air Force for their global recognition. He stated that "at the Royal International Air Show 2025, PAF made history by winning the 'Spirit of the Meet' and 'Concours d'‰l©gance' trophies through their spectacular display of the JF-17 Thunder and C-130 Hercules."
Interior Minister stated that these international accolades are a testament to the PAF's professional excellence, advanced aerial readiness, and world-class training standards. Praising the leadership of Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, he said, "under his dynamic leadership, the Pakistan Air Force has once again shown the world that the guardians of Pakistan's skies are ready in every domain."
The Interior Minister highlighted that PAF's performance at the world's largest air show compelled even the world's leading air forces to appreciate it. He added, "In the recent Pakistan-India tensions, the PAF successfully foiled the enemy's aerial ambitions, and now they have proved their superiority on the global stage as well."
Mohsin Naqvi described this achievement as an international recognition of a strong and self-reliant Pakistan - where passion, knowledge, and technology are the pillars of national defense. "PAF is not just an air force but a flagbearer of national spirit," said the Minister. "Its falcons have not only flown aircraft in the skies but have also elevated the dignity and confidence of the nation."
Interior Minister added that this success is more than just an aerial display - it is a clear message to the world: "Pakistan is ready - for every challenge, at every horizon."
The nation salutes its heroes, engineers, and leadership, who, under the command of Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, have raised Pakistan's name above the skies, said the Interior Minister.
Meanwhile Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi inaugurated the Online Women Police Station and the 1Info Mobile Application during his visit to the Islamabad Safe City Headquarters. The app will allow citizens to register emergency complaints. He appreciated the new initiatives of Islamabad IGP Ali Nasir Rizvi and his team. The Interior Minister also observed the safe city surveillance process on the digital wall.
The Interior Minister instructed that online platforms should be further strengthened to provide immediate assistance to women and vulnerable groups. He stated that the mobile app and the Online Women Police Station reflect our commitment to utilizing modern technology. He also chaired a high-level meeting at the Safe City Headquarters.
Mohsin Naqvi said the Safe City Project has played a crucial role in crime prevention and rapid response. He directed that the surveillance system be enhanced and integrated with artificial intelligence (AI). He added that the Safe City would be made a model project to make Islamabad the safest city. He also instructed that Islamabad Safe City be linked with Safe Cities in other provinces. 'Connecting all Safe Cities will improve data sharing,' said Mohsin Naqvi.
The Interior Minister appreciated the performance of the Safe City staff and urged them to work with more dedication and commitment. He emphasized that public service should be the top priority of the staff deployed at Safe City and lauded the team's spirit and efforts.
IG Islamabad gave a detailed briefing regarding the project. He apprised that currently, 3,100 cameras are being used to monitor various areas of the federal capital, and an additional 3,100 cameras will be installed to expand the system. It was informed that Safe City Islamabad has played a pivotal role in several high-profile cases, including the Sardar Faheem murder case. Many major investigations have progressed with the help of Safe City cameras, which has led to a significant reduction in crime rates in Islamabad.
The Online Women Police Station is specifically designed for women, and a dedicated helpline 1815 has been allocated for them. According to the briefing, the 1815 helpline is operated entirely by female staff, including call attendants, call responders, and investigation officers.
Meanwhile Mohsin Naqvi has paid tribute to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police for thwarting a terrorist attack by the terrorists on the Baka Khel police station.
Mohsin Naqvi praised the professional capabilities of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, stating that they bravely confronted the terrorists and successfully repelled the attack. The police gave a strong and effective response to the assailants and foiled their nefarious plans.
He further added that the brave officers of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police have previously also repelled attacks by terrorists. "I congratulate the entire police team for thwarting the evil intentions of these terrorists," he said. "We are proud of the courageous sons of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police."
