Islamabad: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid a late-night visit to the Jinnah Square Murree Road Underpass Project, Shaheen Chowk on Margalla Road and the Faizabad Interchange.

The excavation of the underpass has been completed, and steel fixing and structural work is progressing rapidly. The Interior Minister reviewed the progress of construction work at the Jinnah Square Murree Road Underpass and expressed satisfaction over its pace.

Interior Minister directed that the Jinnah Square Murree Road Underpass Project must be completed within the stipulated timeframe, emphasizing that all available resources should be utilized to complete the project in record time. He instructed that the road from Jinnah Square to Faizabad Chowk should be developed as a model road and it should be adorned with beautiful lighting and landscaping.

During his visit to Shaheen Chowk on Margalla Road, Mohsin Naqvi stated that Margalla Road would be made signal-free in phases to ease traffic congestion. He also directed that remodeling work on the Faizabad Interchange should be started soon, calling it a crucial connection between Islamabad and Rawalpindi. He emphasized that the interchange should be widened to improve traffic flow. 'Our aim is to make Islamabad a world-class city in terms of public facilities,' he said.

Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa briefed the Interior Minister on the ongoing projects and stated that work on the Jinnah Square Murree Road Underpass Project is progressing rapidly and it will be completed on time. It was also highlighted that the heaviest traffic congestion on Margalla Road occurs at Shaheen Chowk, and the construction of an underpass at that point will significantly help improve the traffic flow.
