Monem Zafar Khan vows to free Karachi from oppressors come what may

Karachi: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Ameer Monem Zafar Khan has said that the JI will continue its struggle to get Karachi freed from oppressors come what may as the progress and development of Karachi guarantee the progress of the entire country.The JI leader expressed these views while addressing the closing ceremony of the four-day Liaquatabad Games organized under the 'Badlo Nizam' theme at Mohammadi Ground, on the weekend.Speaking on the occasion, Moenm Zafar Khan termed the four-day games event in Liaquatabad a positive and encouraging step. He announced that City Olympics will soon be organized at the Karachi level. He said that wherever Jamaat-e-Islami's people are elected as public representatives, they are serving the public selflessly by dedicating their time, abilities, and resources without any discrimination.He also congratulated Liaquatabad Town Chairman Faraz Haseeb for setting a positive example by organizing separate indoor games for women.The JI leader highlighted the Z-Connect pr ogram as announced by the JI supreme leader, Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, to connect the generation Z through sports and other healthy activities. He also highlighted the Bano Qabil program for the youth of Pakistan.On the occasion, he criticized the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) government in Sindh for not granting adequate powers and development funds to local representatives despite Karachi contributing the lion's share of taxes. He said that although Karachi's taxes provide economic lifeline to the Sindh government and the country, towns are still deprived of development funds. He added that Jamaat-e-Islami town chairmen are carrying out development work using their own resources.Referring to the issue of e-challans, Monem Zafar said heavy fines and extortion-like practices are being imposed on motorcycle riders, which requires urgent review. He assured that the JI will continue to pursue the matter.Addressing the ceremony, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami District Central Kamran Siraj, said that Liaquatabad has immense talent and potential which, if provided with proper opportunities, can turn the area into a model of development.Town Chairman Liaquatabad Faraz Haseeb said that Liaquatabad is rapidly moving towards development. He noted that Mohammadi Ground, once deserted, is now fully functional with vibrant sports activities.President of Hyderi Market Association Faraz said credited the leadership of JI Pakistan Ameer Engr Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman and his team for providing strong support to traders, making tangible progress possible in transforming Hyderi Market into a model market.At the conclusion of the ceremony, medals and shields were distributed among players who showed outstanding performance in the games.
