Islamabad: The National Assembly (NA) has unanimously passed a resolution condemning Israeli military aggression in Gaza and expressing unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people.
The resolution was moved by Shazia Marri of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and received overwhelming support from members of the House.
Text of the resolution said the National Assembly reaffirms Pakistans historic and steadfast support for the Palestinian people and their legitimate struggle for freedom, dignity, and justice.
NA expresses deep concern over the continued and escalating Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip, which has resulted in the killing of a large number of civilians, widespread destruction of homes and infrastructure, and a worsening humanitarian catastrophe.
NA strongly condemns recent statements and actions by Israeli authorities indicating plans for the prolonged occupation of Gaza, forced displacement of its population, and efforts to erase its Palestinian identity.
NA denounces deliberate targeting of civilian areas, including hospitals, schools, places of worship, and refugee camps, as well as obstruction of humanitarian aid³actions deemed clear violations of international humanitarian and human rights law.
NA condemns the use of starvation, siege, and collective punishment as tools of war and classifies these acts as war crimes under international law.
NA Calls upon the United Nations and the international community to fulfill their moral and legal obligations by taking immediate and concrete steps to end Israeli military aggression in Gaza besides ensuring the protection of civilians and unrestricted delivery of humanitarian aid;
Pakistan holds the occupying power accountable for war crimes and crimes against humanity;
We support the Palestinian people in their pursuit of justice and self-determination.
The resolution also urges the Government of Pakistan to continue raising its voice for the Palestinian cause at all international platforms including the United Nations, Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and other relevant forums, and to further expand diplomatic, humanitarian, and moral support.
Expressing solidarity with the brave and resilient people of Gaza, the resolution acknowledges their courage in the face of unimaginable suffering and oppression.
The National Assembly declares that the people of Pakistan stand firmly with the Palestinian cause and will continue to support it until justice is served and the Palestinian people are granted their full and rightful entitlements.
