Islamabad: Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan Sardar Ayaz Sadiq paid rich tribute to the Armed Forces and the nation on the completion of one year of Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, describing it as a remarkable example of national defence, military excellence and national unity.

In his message on Youm-e-Marka-e-Haq, the Speaker said the historic day held immense significance in Pakistan's defence history as the Armed Forces responded decisively to Indian aggression and successfully defeated hostile designs against the country.

He recalled that under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and the military strategy of Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the operation was executed with exceptional professionalism and coordination.

Speaker Ayaz Sadiq said the synergy between the political and military leadership united the nation and strengthened Pakistan's position for the future. He added that during Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, the Armed Forces successfully targeted key enemy installations and neutralized enemy air defence systems, including the S-400 system.

He particularly praised the performance of the Pakistan Air Force, saying it had instilled national pride and established Pakistan's air superiority in the region. He also commended the professional strategy of the Pakistan Navy, stating that it confined the enemy to its naval bases.

The Speaker further stated that cyber and electronic warfare strategies employed during the operation rendered the enemy's communication and command systems ineffective, causing severe damage to its war-fighting capability.

Reaffirming Pakistan's commitment to peace, Ayaz Sadiq said Pakistan was a peace-loving but self-respecting state that would never compromise on the defence of its sovereignty.

Referring to the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, he called for its resolution under United Nations auspices in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. He also criticized India's stance on the Indus Waters Treaty, terming it 'water terrorism' and warning that Pakistan reserved the right to respond appropriately to unlawful acts of aggression.

Deputy Speaker Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah also said that Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos reflected the professional excellence of the Armed Forces and the unwavering resolve of the nation.
