Islamabad: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has extended warm New Year greetings and best wishes to the nation on the advent of New Year 2026, expressing hope that the coming year will bring renewed opportunities for progress, stability, and prosperity for Pakistan. He prayed for peace, economic growth, and overall well-being for the people of the country.

In his message, the NA Speaker said that the beginning of a new year provides an important opportunity to reflect on past experiences and to chart a clear and purposeful path for the future. He reaffirmed that Parliament will continue to fulfill its constitutional responsibilities with dedication, ensuring the promotion of democratic values, supremacy of the Constitution and law, and the welfare of the people.

Referring to challenges faced during 2025, including regional tensions and war-like situations, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq noted that Pakistan’s principled and responsible stance following the conflict with India was acknowledged and respected at the international level. He said the country achieved notable diplomatic successes, which enhanced Pakistan’s global standing and national prestige.

The NA Speaker also called upon the nation to remember the oppressed people of Palestine and Indian-administered Kashmir, who continue to suffer grave human rights violations. He highlighted the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza, where war and extreme weather conditions, including heavy rains, have compounded the hardships of the civilian population. He expressed hope that the New Year will bring justice, peace, and freedom to the people of Palestine and Kashmir.

Emphasizing internal cohesion, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that national stability and sustainable development depend on mutual tolerance, social harmony, and cooperation. He stressed that in a diverse and multi-religious society like Pakistan, interfaith harmony is essential for strengthening unity, mutual respect, and lasting peace.

He urged citizens to contribute with unity, diligence, and a sense of responsibility towards building a strong, peaceful, and prosperous Pakistan, and to make the New Year a catalyst for collective progress and national betterment.
