Islamabad: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq held a meeting with Federal Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar, Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Haroon Akhtar Khan, and MNA Syed Naveed Qamar. Deputy Speaker Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah was also present.

During the meeting, participants discussed the Prime Minister's austerity measures in light of prevailing regional tensions and reviewed proposals to make the legislative process more effective and result-oriented.

The Speaker informed that 75 percent of official vehicles have been grounded as part of fuel and energy conservation efforts, while the Secretariat is meeting its electricity needs through the Green Parliament solar system.

He further stated that only 200 employees are physically attending duties during Assembly sessions and that the Secretariat aims to save up to PKR 2 billion through these initiatives. The participants appreciated the steps taken and discussed further proposals to strengthen the performance of Standing Committees and legislative procedures.
